WEST Coast is breathing a sigh of relief with star ruckman Nic Naitanui escaping suspension for shoving Zach Merrett into the fence.
Naitanui was reported for rough conduct when he reacted angrily to Merrett tugging his hair during the Eagles' 55-point thumping of the Bombers in the first elimination final at Optus Stadium on Thursday night.
Match Review Officer Michael Christian graded the incident as misconduct and offered the Eagle a $1500 sanction as a first offence. Naitanui can accept a $1000 fine with an early plea.
Merrett was also offered a $1500 sanction as a first offence but can accept a $1000 fine with an early plea.
Meanwhile, Essendon's Conor McKenna can accept a $1500 fine with an early plea for striking Jack Redden during the third quarter.
