Brennen captained Australia in the final deciding test match of the International Rules Youth series aginst Ireland earlier this year. Playing across the HB line he worked hard, he attacked the ball and won many possessions. He has the confidence to run and bounce the ball.

Brennen is very much an inside player, with good vision and decision making skills. He needs additional strength, because of the way he plays, but that will come with time and development. He is too young for the November draft but one has to be excited about his development over the next 18 months once he completes his secondary studies this year and perhaps has some extra training time during first year university.
