BACKGROUND
In 2003 the Constitution of the Fremantle Football Club Limited was amended to allow for the election of two (2) member elected representatives on the Board of Directors of the Club.
From the elections held in November 2003, Mr David Garic, who polled the highest number of votes, was elected to the Board for a two (2) year term and Mr Les Everett for a one (1) year term. The appointments were effective from 1 December 2003.
By having these initial different terms of appointment, members will elect one Board representative every year from 1 December 2004 for a two (2) year term.
These two member elected positions took the total number of members of the Board to nine (9) joining Rick Hart (President), Len Hitchen (Vice President) Mel Ashton, Gary Berrell, Tony Buhagiar, David Rawlinson and Greg Wall.
With Mr Les Everett’s term of office expiring on 30 November 2004, nominations were called for this position on 1 October 2004 for appointment to the Board for a two-year term until 30 November 2006. A total of seven (7) nominations were received including Mr Everett who was seeking re-election for the position on the Board. The nominees were:
Brenton HARTFIELD
Larry FOLEY
Stephen GROVES
Brendan CLARK
Russell COLLETT
Les EVERETT*
Allison BROWN
The election was conducted via a postal ballot independently conducted by the Western Australian Electoral Commission. Eligibility to vote was restricted to Voting Club Members and voting ceased at 10:00am Tuesday 30 November 2004.
