GOLD Coast assistant coach Shaun Hart has declared the Suns' three latest debutants are ready to make a significant impact on Saturday night against the Brisbane Lions.

Sam Day, taken at No.3 in last year's national draft, will be joined by fellow talls Tom Lynch and Joey Daye in a revamped side from the one hammered by 139 points by Essendon last Sunday.

Defender Nathan Bock will also return after a one-match suspension, while Dan Gorringe and Nathan Krakouer are back in the team.

Charlie Dixon (calf), Josh Fraser (back), Seb Tape (rested), Luke Russell, Harley Bennell and Steven May (omitted) will all miss the Lions match.

Hart - a former Lions premiership player and Norm Smith medallist - has coached all three debutants in the reserves and said they were ready for the step up.

"I think it's fantastic," he said.

"I think Sam Day, Joey Daye and Tommy Lynch are all ready to play and I think the Gold Coast fans will be equally excited by each of them because they offer different things. They are certainly great athletes, great competitors... and will stand up well for the Gold Coast this Saturday night."

Day had scouts salivating last year with his 196cm, 96kg frame a perfect fit for any forward line.

The South Australian passed up an opportunity at the US Major League Baseball Academy and will now realise his AFL dream.

He was also a prodigious basketball talent.

"I'll never forget the people and sports that helped me along the way but I've made my choice and looking forward to having my first crack at it," he said.

"I was excited earlier in the week but towards the end of the week when the game's rolling around, I'm definitely a bit nervous right now."

Lynch is also a strong marking forward at 199cm and 91kg and was taken at no.11 by the Suns in the draft, while Daye is a Queenslander that has been with Gold Coast since day one.

The smooth moving Daye is 195cm and 85kg and plays on a wing.

Hart said the Suns had a simple selection policy - if you're good enough, you play - and was not concerned about the number of changes made to the team.

"We want the very best and strongest side according to the opposition and who deserves the spot in our team. We believe the three coming into our side are going to add a lot to what we do against Brisbane and they've deserved those spots."

Hart said the Suns were ready for a physical onslaught in the opening stages of the inaugural QClash.

He said Gold Coast expected the Lions to be aggressive in the early stages of the game.

"You've got to be mentally strong, physically strong, keep standing up, keep coming back for the fight and no mater what Brisbane throws this week we'll have 22 players ready to come back and fight again," he said.

"It'd be a super thing for the Gold Coast to win this first QClash but it's not going to be easy. If we can jump out of the blocks and get in Brisbane's face we've got a great opportunity to be in this game for four quarters."
