Sam's father, Graeme, played VFL football for Carlton and for Richmond and now Sam is very likely to follow in his father's footsteps into the AFL. He is a tall, left footed wingman or half back flanker, who has proven to be more than capable when he has the ball, he makes good decisions, has awareness of what is around him and is prepared to run and bounce the ball.

Sam will continue to develop the defensive and physical sides of his game throughout the remaining games of 2004 with his TAC Cup club in Victoria.
