RICHMOND defender Bachar Houli has suffered a wrist injury on the eve of Saturday night's clash against the Sydney Swans.

Houli has been withdrawn from the Tigers' 22 to face the Swans and will see a specialist to determine the extent of the injury suffered at training on Thursday morning.

The Tigers have included half-back Taylor Hunt as Houli's replacement to face the Swans.

"At this stage, a timeframe on his availability to return to playing is to be determined," the Tigers said.

Small forward Dan Butler joins Jason Castagna and Andrew Moore as an emergency.

Houli has played every game this season, averaging a career-high 24 possessions. He has not missed a game since round 16, 2013.
