The AFL is giving fans even more access to live stream state league and talent pathway football in 2023, with every Hostplus SANFL League match to be available to watch live and free via AFL platforms this season.

The partnership with the South Australian National Football League to showcase all 96 men’s SANFL matches via AFL.com.au and the AFL Live Official App, powered by Telstra, expands the AFL’s extensive live and on-demand streaming offering. Fans can already watch Smithy’s VFL, rebel VFLW, WAFL, Coates Talent League Boys and Girls and Talent Pathway competitions such as the AFL National Championships for Boys and Girls.

The AFL made a significant commitment to covering the best players and competitions in the country outside AFL/AFLW last year and through the addition of all SANFL matches, fans will have free access to watch more than 700 state league and talent pathway matches in 2023, live and on demand.

Clubs and players from competitions live streamed via AFL platforms will get greater exposure to broader audiences, amplified by increased editorial coverage and full match centres with live stats and ladders.

In an added bonus for supporters, all AFL-listed players competing at state league level will now be in action each week on AFL platforms.

AFL Executive General Manager Customer and Commercial, Kylie Rogers, said: "The AFL has made a big commitment to making live streaming accessible via ‘Stream Your Team’ on the AFL website and the AFL Live Official App. Through the addition of all SANFL Men’s League matches for the first time, fans have more choice to watch the best state league and talent pathway players in the country.

“Thank you to the SANFL for working with the AFL on this partnership. We are delighted to give fans access to live stream SANFL footy and expose South Australia’s state league clubs and players to a broader national audience, with the AFL website and app attracting more than six million visitors monthly.

“It is now easier for fans, families and recruiters to watch their favourite state league clubs as well as the future stars of AFL and AFLW.”

In 2023 the AFL website (afl.com.au) and AFL Live Official App, powered by Telstra, will provide comprehensive coverage of Smithy’s VFL, rebel VFLW, WAFL, Coates Talent League Boys and Girls, Under 18 AFL National Championships and now the Hostplus SANFL League, including free live streaming as well as replays on demand, highlights, latest news and more.

The Hostplus SANFL League competition kicks off this Friday, March 31 when reigning premiers Norwood host the Eagles under lights, followed by four matches on Saturday, April 1.

The Smithy’s VFL and rebel VFLW competitions both started on the weekend just gone, as did the Coates Talent League Boys competition. The Coates Talent League Girls are two weeks into their season.

It promises to be an exciting opening to the WAFL season with a triple header on Good Friday, April 7, starting with a rematch of the 2022 Grand Final when West Perth unfurl the flag against Claremont.
