ADELAIDE unrestricted free agent Cam Ellis-Yolmen will be the next Crow to fly the coop, when he accepts a four-year offer from Brisbane.

AFL.com.au understands the 190cm midfielder's teammates have known for weeks about the length of his impending deal with the Lions.

The Crows confirmed Ellis-Yolmen's departure, first reported by AFL.com.au, on Sunday night, thanking the on-baller for his eight years at the club.

The free agency period officially opens on Friday and the Trade Period starts the following Monday.

Ellis-Yolmen's played only 39 games in eight seasons but has proven a capable onballer who can perform run-with roles, and he averaged a career-best 23.5 disposals and 4.9 clearances in 2019.

The long-term deal fits with Brisbane's recent list strategy, including typically offering no less than three years – Luke Hodge excluded – to incoming recruits.

Ellis-Yolmen will renew acquaintances with Charlie Cameron and former Adelaide football boss David Noble at the Lions.

Securing Ellis-Yolmen, who turns 27 in January, was one reason Brisbane pulled out of the race for another in-demand Crow, Hugh Greenwood.

Greenwood, another tall inside midfielder, is Gold Coast-bound, but the Hawks have also tabled an offer to him.

Adelaide is believed to be willing to give the 27-year-old no more than two seasons, whereas satisfying straightforward contract triggers will deliver him four at the Suns.

Fresh from a second premiership for Richmond, restricted free agent Brandon Ellis is also tipped to sign with Gold Coast for the next five seasons.

Greenwood, who is out of contract but not a free agent, is due back from the United States on Monday morning and might finalise his decision by Tuesday.

One of his confidantes at the Crows, ruckman Sam Jacobs, has already indicated he will exercise his free agency rights – and is set to join the Giants on a two-year deal.

Port Adelaide forward-ruckman Billy Frampton could be on the move across town to be Jacobs' replacement.

Greenwood is also close with veteran goalsneak Eddie Betts, who will almost certainly be at Carlton next season despite having a year to run on his contract.

Defender Alex Keath requested a trade this week as well and wants to play for the Western Bulldogs.

The Crows will have a busy Trade Period, with Josh Jenkins reaching a "mutual agreement" to look elsewhere and the Brad Crouch situation still up in the air.

Adelaide's concerted youth movement included Richard Douglas being delisted and Andy Otten retiring.

What could be in the works

Geelong gun Tim Kelly is expected to again request a trade home to Western Australia, after meeting with both the Eagles and Dockers during the season.

It's believed his preference, as it was last year, is to play for West Coast.

There is also plenty of speculation about what Essendon forward Joe Daniher, a 2020 free agent, will do, with a trade request to Sydney considered a possibility.

The Swans may be pretty active, especially if contracted small forward Tom Papley opts to return to Victoria, potentially at Carlton or North Melbourne.

Sydney ruckman Darcy Cameron looks set to be at Collingwood next season.

AFL.com.au understands the Bombers are also bracing for Orazio Fantasia to request a trade home to South Australia, with Port Adelaide keen to have him.

Out-of-favour Power swingman Dougal Howard could be part of a potential Fantasia trade, having met with Essendon, North Melbourne and St Kilda this week.

Melbourne is primed to sign Greater Western Sydney unrestricted free agent Adam Tomlinson and trade for Fremantle dasher Ed Langdon.

The Demons are also making a play for free agent Magpie Jamie Elliott, but defender Sam Frost seems to be on the outer and confirmed Hawthorn was one of his suitors.

The Hawks are believed to have met with Elliott as well, while Giant Jon Patton is expected to soon request a trade to the brown and gold.

Four-time Saints club champion Jack Steven is weighing up asking again about a trade to Geelong.

Among other players to watch are Tiger Dan Butler, Lion Nick Robertson and Kangaroo Mason Wood, who may all be at new clubs by the end of the Trade Period.

Who else is definitely on the move?
