The Victorian teams to compete at the 2025 Marsh AFL National Development Championships – U16 Girls have been announced.
Victoria Country and Victoria Metro have both selected 26-player squads for the Championships, which will be played across the country over the next fortnight.
The Victoria Country squad features players from the six Coates Talent League country programs: Bendigo Pioneers, Dandenong Stingrays, Geelong Falcons, Gippsland Power, GWV Rebels and Murray Bushrangers.
The Victoria Metro squad features players from the six Coates Talent League metropolitan programs: Calder Cannons, Eastern Ranges, Northern Knights, Oakleigh Chargers, Sandringham Dragons and Western Jets.
Dandenong Stingrays coach Josh Moore has been appointed head coach of Victoria Country, while Northern Knights coach Allana Dickie will take the reins of Victoria Metro.
The Marsh AFL National Development Championships – U16 Girls feature the best under-16 footballers from across Australia, with 10 teams competing across two pools.
Victoria Country and Victoria Metro will both feature in Pool A alongside the Brisbane Lions Academy, Gold Coast Suns Academy, South Australia and Westen Australia.
Pool B will comprise four teams, including the GWS Giants Academy, Northern Territory, Sydney Swans Academy and Tasmania.
Both Victorian sides will be in action at Automall Aspley Oval next Wednesday, April 9, with Country to take on the Brisbane Lions Academy ahead of Metro’s match against the Gold Coast Suns Academy.
The two Victorian sides will then play against each other at Shepley Oval on Wednesday, April 16
