Bryce Gibbs 8 votes, Paul Seedsman 4, Richard Douglas 3*, Rory Laird 3, Tom Lynch 3

Summary
All Australian defender Laird has been recognised by the coaches through the first 14 rounds of the season. Laird has polled votes in seven of his 11 games, having missed the past two with a hand injury. However, he has only earned votes in two games according to AFL.com.au's Brownlow Predictor – the round two win against Richmond (two votes), and the round five victory over Sydney (one vote). NAB AFL Rising Star prospect Tom Doedee earned coaches' votes only once, polling three votes in the win against the Swans. - Lee Gaskin

Dayne Beams 8 votes, Stefan Martin 4, Dayne Zorko 4

Summary
No real surprises in these votes, with the Lions leadership group leading the way. Beams had a slow start to his season but caught fire after six weeks, while Zorko also shrugged off some early-season tags to become more prominent. Andrews has had an exceptional past month and was rewarded with coaches votes in three games before being knocked out last weekend. Despite winning just one game, the Lions have been so competitive they have tallied more coaches' votes than four other teams. – Michael Whiting

Patrick Cripps 16 votes, Charlie Curnow 4, Ed Curnow 3

Summary
Patrick Cripps is among the favourites for this year's Brownlow Medal – and rightfully so. Cripps has barely anyone stealing votes from him at Carlton, while admirable performances should put him in the umpires' sights even in losing teams. He's just three votes behind Nat Fyfe in the AFLCA Player of the Year award, while he's also second behind the ineligible Fyfe in AFL.com.au's Brownlow Predictor. According to the Brownlow Predictor, Cripps could have polled maximum votes on four occasions already. Expect him to poll in 30-disposal games against Richmond, West Coast, the Western Bulldogs and Geelong, while his three-goal haul against Collingwood last weekend could also earn him maximum votes. - Riley Beveridge

Summary
There has been no shortage of stars for the Magpies during their rise back into finals calculations. They boast several high-end performers, led by reigning club champion Steele Sidebottom and Brodie Grundy, arguably the AFL's best ruckman. Both have polled well in the coaches' award, sitting third and equal-11th overall respectively. They also share ninth spot in our predicted Brownlow Medal count. Illustrating the club's depth of talent, seven Pies (including the now-injured Adam Treloar) have attracted more than 20 votes each, and 10 have already received votes in our forecast Brownlow. – Ben Collins

Dyson Heppell 7 votes, Zach Merrett 6, Devon Smith 4, Jake Stringer 4

Summary
It is a little surprising Devon Smith has not polled more votes in the coaches' award given his impact at the Bombers this season, but at least the club's three trade recruits – Smith, Jake Stringer and Adam Saad – have all polled solidly. Dyson Heppell's impact through the midfield makes him the club's clear leader in the AFLCA and also in the Brownlow Predictor, but it's been a lean year so far for votes in that department. Zach Merrett led the Bombers' Brownlow leaderboard last year with 15 votes, but will need a brilliant run in the second half of the season to top that. - Callum Twomey

Nat Fyfe* 20, Lachie Neale 5, Connor Blakely 3, Adam Cerra 3, Ed Langdon 3, Aaron Sandilands 3

Summary
Nat Fyfe leads both awards, although he's ineligible for the Brownlow Medal after being suspended for a hit on Collingwood's Levi Greenwood. His lead in the coaches' votes is three, over Carlton onballer Patrick Cripps. In four out of his 12 matches this season, the Dockers captain has unanimously been considered best-on-ground by the coaches, and one of those performances came when Freo was thumped by Richmond. Nathan Wilson has impressed the coaches, while Ed Langdon (coaches' votes in four games) and Connor Blakely (three) have improved. – Dinny Navaratnam

Joel Selwood 8 votes, Gary Ablett 7, Tim Kelly 6, Tom Stewart 6

Summary
When Gary Ablett polls coaches' votes, he polls big. The three-time winner has recorded four games of six or more votes from the coaches, which will also hold him in a strong position come Brownlow Medal night. The AFL.com.aupredictor has him nine votes behind leader Patrick Cripps with nine games remaining, while 2016 Brownlow Medallist Patrick Dangerfield has just five votes in the predictor, despite polling coaches' votes in seven of a possible 13 matches this season. Second-year defender Tom Stewart failed to record a Brownlow vote in his debut season, but is on track for 12 in his breakout year. – Mitch Cleary

Touk Miller 4 votes, Jack Bowes 3, Tom Lynch 3, Jarryd Lyons 3

Summary
The lack of votes in either category probably sums up Gold Coast's season. Lynch kicked eight goals against Carlton and Miller completely shut down Dayne Zorko to get maximum votes in those respective wins. Outside of the Suns' three victories for the season, just five players have scored coaches' votes in the remaining nine losses – an indictment on how often they've been soundly beaten. – Michael Whiting

Stephen Coniglio 8 votes, Josh Kelly 7, Jeremy Cameron 6

Summary
Whitfield is a surprise leader in the coaches' votes but he's had some quality games in his new role across half back, with Coniglio the team's most consistent player this season. The West Australian picked up all 10 votes in round two against Collingwood, with Haynes (R4 vs Fremantle), Shiel (R11 vs Adelaide) and Cameron (R12 vs Gold Coast) the others with a perfect score. Deledio received all of his votes in rounds 4-6 when he showed some vintage form. Coniglio polled all eight of his predictor votes in the first four rounds, while Kelly has racked up his in his past three games. – Adam Curley

Summary
As expected, Tom Mitchell dominates at Hawthorn, having polled votes in the coaches' award in seven of 13 games so far. James Sicily is having an eye-catching season as well, although he is ineligible for the Brownlow. The coaches in particular are taking note of vice-captain Liam Shiels, who is enjoying a fine season. And memo to Kane Cornes: the boy O'Meara is having a good season as well. Summary
Gawn is sixth in the competition in coaches' votes, having scored two perfect 10s in rounds three and six. The ruckman, however, is second at the Demons behind Jesse Hogan when it comes to AFL.com.au's Brownlow predictor. Interestingly, Gawn has polled more AFLCA votes than fellow All Australian ruck contender, Collingwood's Brodie Grundy (38), but fewer votes in AFL.com.au's Brownlow predictor (10). Hogan and Tom McDonald's terrific seasons have been recognised by the coaches, while Angus Brayshaw and Jake Melksham have also got credit for their performances. – Ben Guthrie

Shaun Higgins 15 votes, Ben Cunnington 9, Ben Brown 7, Jarrad Waite 7

Summary
Higgins is the undoubted standout Roo in 2018 and a legitimate Brownlow Medal contender. The 30-year-old scored maximum votes three times in our predictor and twice received the full 10 off the coaches, on top of a nine. Higgins has featured in the predictor votes seven times and with the coaches on six occasions from his 12 games. There is a consensus top four at the club, with Brown, Cunnington and Waite behind Higgins. All of Wood's votes came out of his match-winning, four-goal performance against Sydney, whereas Jacobs' 16 coaches' votes were scattered across six matches, demonstrating his consistency. - Marc McGowan

Ollie Wines 9 votes, Robbie Gray 7, Jared Polec 5, Justin Westhoff 5

Summary
Wines has lifted his game in the past three weeks, picking up 23 out of a possible 30 coaches' votes in the Power's wins against Richmond, Western Bulldogs (both maximum 10 votes) and Melbourne. He's also on track to get six Brownlow Medal votes in that period, according to AFL.com.au's Brownlow Predictor. Lethal forward/midfielder Robbie Gray has polled coaches' votes in six games, including a best on ground six-goal performance in Showdown 44 against Adelaide in round eight. Gray should also receive the three Brownlow votes from that game. Defender Tom Jonas has polled coaches' votes in four games, but has only the two Brownlow votes overall, coming from the Power's round 14 win over Melbourne. - Lee Gaskin

Trent Cotchin 11 votes, Dustin Martin 11, Josh Caddy* 6, Shane Edwards 6, Kane Lambert 3

Summary
It's no surprise Trent Cotchin has caught the eye of the coaches more than any other Tiger. He's recorded two perfect 10-vote games (rounds three and six), for which he's also been tipped to poll Brownlow votes. Interestingly, Alex Rance has been tipped for just two Brownlow votes to this stage despite the coaches' opinion he's had a much better season than that. In AFLCA voting, the four-time All Australian is third at the Tigers. Jack Riewoldt is eighth, and, like Rance, has been neglected in Brownlow observations and hasn't registered a single predicted vote. Kane Lambert, Josh Caddy and Shane Edwards have been acknowledged for their decent seasons across both award categories. – Jennifer Phelan

Summary
Jimmy Webster has been rewarded in just one game by the coaches – against Fremantle in round eight – even though Alan Richardson said recently the defender has arguably been his side's best player this year. Seb Ross has polled votes from the coaches in five matches, which is more than any other Saint. However, Jack Steven leads the Brownlow predictor, having been considered best-on-ground in both of St Kilda's victories. Just five Saints are tipped to pick up Brownlow votes in 2018, the other two being Jade Gresham (for his six-goal haul against Richmond) and Tim Membrey (after booting the same tally against West Coast). – Dinny Navaratnam

Summary
Franklin began the year with all 10 votes for his bag of eight against the Eagles, while Ronke's amazing seven-goal haul against the Hawks, and Sinclair's dominant performance against Carlton in round 11, saw them also sweep the coaches' votes. Franklin, Heeney, Kennedy and Parker have all collected votes in six games, the most at the club, and the lack of votes for McVeigh (9), and Rampe and Grundy (5) is surprising. Franklin and Kennedy have both polled two best on grounds in the predictor, while Heeney polled all of his votes in rounds 10-12. – Adam Curley

Summary
Things are pretty consistent for the Eagles across the two awards. Jack Darling features prominently after a strong start to the season, although he can expect to be overtaken in the run to the finals given his expected injury layoff. Andrew Gaff and Elliot Yeo are also up there in both awards, as is Shannon Hurn, while Jack Redden and Josh Kennedy are others to have attracted both the eye of the coaches and our reporters. Jeremy McGovern is the surprise; he was given nine AFLCA award votes for his round four performance against Gold Coast but just one predicted Brownlow vote for the same game, with Yeo (three votes) and Chris Masten (two) slotting in ahead of him. – Jennifer Phelan

Summary
Macrae was flying before he was struck down with a hamstring injury that's likely to see him sidelined for a month, as he polled coaches' votes in six of his 13 games, including two perfect 10s. The Brownlow predictor has him collecting maximum votes from rounds seven to nine. For a player widely considered a superstar of the competition, Marcus Bontempelli hasn't seen much love from the coaches, polling just 16 votes in 12 games. And in acknowledgment to his growing importance to the Dogs, impressive utility Bailey Williams has caught the eye of the coaches with 12 votes. – Ryan Davidson
