About the roles
We currently have two full time opportunities within our Membership Department:
 
Membership Acquisition & Retention Coordinator
Reporting to the Head of Membership Sales & Retention, this role focuses on building strong member relationships and delivering a premium service experience. It supports retention by driving renewals, acquiring new members, and promoting engagement with games and membership benefits, while also assisting with sales enquiries, match days, and member events.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of membership retention campaigns in collaboration with the Head of Membership Sales & Retention
  • Assist in training and coaching membership staff on retention strategies, including handling opt-outs, refunds, and save tactics
  • Conduct targeted “check-in” campaigns for first-year, high-risk, and disengaged members to drive retention and engagement
  • Perform outbound sales calls to unrenewed members and prospects to achieve sales KPIs
  • Manage membership cancellations and implement strategies to retain members where possible
  • Provide account management support for early-year members, delivering personalised communications and onboarding experiences
  • Coordinate member surveys, analyse insights, and provide recommendations to improve retention strategies
  • Support inbound enquiries, reporting, match-day operations, member events, and general administrative tasks as required

 

Membership & Ticketing Operations Coordinator
Reporting to the ​​Membership & Ticketing Operations Manager​​, this role ​manages the operational elements of the Membership and Ticketing departments. ​You will ensure membership renewal operations and database updates are delivered on time, ticketing requirements are met, staff are effectively trained on system changes, and member fulfilment programs and events are executed to a high standard.
 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Membership & Ticketing Ops Manager with day-to-day membership operations and processes and implement strategies to ensure staff are accountable and meeting KPI’s 
  • ​Coordinator Reserved Seat Changeover 
  • ​Ensure card and fulfilment files are submitted weekly with no errors 
  • ​Assist with Hawks Future Flyers program – bulk uploads & processing 
  • ​Assist with membership operational comms​ 
  • ​​Assist with the membership renewal build operations​ 
  • ​​Assist with internal ticketing fulfilment for AFL & AFLW. 
  • ​Liaise with interstate clubs to confirm ticketing requirements to Hawthorn interstate games and UTAS matches 
  • ​Assist the wider membership team on match-days for both AFL & AFLW​ 

 

Please note that both roles require attendance at games, across evenings, weekends with some interstate travel. Please outline in your cover letter which role you are interested in and submit your resume by 18th May 2026.

You are a motivated and detail‑oriented professional with excellent communication skills and a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer or member experiences. Confident in stakeholder management, you bring strong problem‑solving, retention, and negotiation capabilities, along with the ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism. A proactive and natural leader, you thrive in fast‑paced environments, work effectively both independently and within a team, and consistently maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
 
 
You’ll Bring:
  • 1–2+ years’ experience in a membership‑based, customer service, sales, or operations role (sport or events experience highly regarded) or experience in membership acquisition, retention, and phone‑based sales or engagement
  • Exposure to ticketing operations and large‑scale events desirable
  • Strong experience using CRM and/or customer database systems (Archtics and Salesforce highly regarded)
  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships and manage stakeholders
  • Highly organised, target‑driven, and able to work to deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Sports Management, or a related field (preferred)
  • Current Employee Working with Children Check
