THE AFL congratulates field umpire Brendan Hosking who will officiate his 300th AFL match today during the Round 10 Hawthorn vs Melbourne game. Hosking will also receive AFL Life Membership.

A career spanning more than a decade, Hosking umpired his first AFL match in 2012, after beginning his umpiring journey with the Essendon District Football League in 2003.

Hosking has officiated in one AFL Grand Final in 2022 and was made an AFLUA Life Member in 2021.

AFL Head of Officiating, Stephen McBurney said that Hosking's achievement was a tremendous effort.

“Brendan's dedication to the game and performance at the highest level of Umpiring is outstanding. 

“To reach 300 games is an incredible milestone and we look forward to celebrating Brendan's achievements today.

"Brendan has been a part of the umpiring team for more than a decade and we applaud him on this amazing accomplishment and thank him for his contribution to umpiring thus far."
