 Please note, we are primarily recruiting for candidates based in the South Metro area with a focus on Footy Fundamentals and AFL 9's umpiring. Please read below for more information. 

Key Responsibilities:

The nature of the Game Development Officer role is diverse and works across multiple areas within WA Football with the major aim to grow and promote football participation. Duties are dependent on the appointed role and we are looking for employees to fill a variety of roles. This is a fantastic opportunity for staff seeking regular casual work and looking for an entry into the football industry. 

Duties may include:

Auskick Support – weekday/weekend work

  • Auskick Centre Check-ins
  • Auskick Centre Support
  • Assist with the delivery of Auskick Gala Days/Carnivals
  • Liaise and work with parents and football volunteers
  • Oppurtunities for before & after school Auskick clinics

School  & Community Clinics – weekday/ school holiday work

  • Plan, prepare and deliver Primary and Secondary School Football Clinics
  • Plan, prepare and deliver Community Football Clinics
  • Deliver School Holiday Clinics/Programs/Academies
  • Deliver Come and Try Clinics/Free School Days – Auskick and Primary/Secondary Schools
  • Assist with delivery of the Nicky Winmar/ Kirby Bentley Carnival
  • Promote football as a sport of choice
  • Help & assist in Starkick Carnivals and Activities 

AFL/AFLW Match Day – weekend work

  • Assist with AFL/AFLW Half-Time including Auskick and Little League
  • Liaise and work with parents/football volunteers
  • Opportunity to work at Optus Stadium, including being on ground!

WAFL Little League Coordinator – weekend work

  • Delivery of Half-Time Little League at the WAFL venue
  • Liaise and work with parents and football volunteers
  • Assist with Auskick activations as required

AFL Nines and Superkick - Weekday Work

  • Coordinate the delivery of AFL Nines and Superkick Competitions
  • Umpire AFL Nines

Football Fundamentals - Weekday/Weekend Work

  • Coordinating and delivery of the program 
  • Working with ages 2-5 on the fundamentals of Football
  • Working with parents 
  • Run on a smaller scale 

Community Connect Programs

  • These programs are specifically developed to engage our multicultural and First Nations communities.
  • We welcome applicants that represent these communities and would be interested in casual work supporting the Community Connect programs.  

As these roles are casual there is also flexibility to pick up a combination of weekday and weekend work within other AFL programs.
