Team of the Decade

Darren Mead started and ended his career at Port Adelaide, playing a total of 122 games in the AFL after having been a successful member of the SANFL side prior to the Club’s entry into the AFL. He debuted in Round 1, 1997 against Collingwood at the MCG, and won the inaugural John Cahill Medal that year, as well as being voted the Best First Year Player and Member’s Choice. He also finished third in the Best and Fairest Count and once again was elected the Member’s Choice Player of the Year.
