HAWTHORN stars Isaac Smith and Luke Breust chose to withdraw from the realestate.com.au AFLX tournament in preference of rest as the Hawks complete their second mandatory four-day break.
They join Chad Wingard (calf) in pulling out of Friday night's tournament, leaving Team Deadly vice-captain Shaun Burgoyne as the sole Hawks representative.
The final teams are scheduled to be announced on Wednesday at 7pm.
AFL.com.au understands fellow Hawthorn guns Jack Gunston and James Sicily won't be taking the field in AFLX as replacements.
Breust and Smith, who will play in the Hawks' practice game against Carlton on Thursday, were set to join Jack Riewoldt's Team Rampage for the one-night event at Marvel Stadium.
Gunston won't take part in the scratch match against the Blues as he battles iliotibal band (ITB) friction and will be on a restricted program over the next five days.
The ITB sits on the outside of the thigh.
"We are taking a precautious approach to ensure Jack is ready to go for Round 1," Wright told hawthornfc.com.au.
"Although he will miss this week's practice match against Carlton, we are confident he will still take part in some of the JLT Series."
Wingard won't play on Thursday as he manages an ongoing calf complaint that has restricted him to light duties for three weeks.
Clubs are required to give players two four-day breaks between returning from the Christmas period and the first JLT Community Series match, as part of the new collective bargaining agreement.
This was the last weekend Hawthorn could fit in another break.
It is unclear if Breust and Smith knew the timing of their club's leave before committing to AFLX originally.

Gunston and Sicily are not available for AFLX selection, but the Hawks may still offer playing alternatives, similar to Port Adelaide's move to replace Robbie Gray with Tom Rockliff and Fremantle's switch with Nathan Wilson for Joel Hamling.
Wingard was replaced by Gold Coast's Jack Martin in Team Deadly.
Martin will be joined by St Kilda's Jade Gresham, who was included after Melbourne's Steven May suffered a hamstring setback.

North Melbourne defender Robbie Tarrant, selected for the Bolts, will also need to be replaced after going under the knife last week for surgery to repair an injured AC joint.
The four AFLX teams will converge on Melbourne on Thursday ahead of the tournament at Marvel Stadium.
