JOE Daniher will hold a meeting with Essendon over the next 24 hours where he is expected to inform the Bombers he wants to join Brisbane.

Daniher is making his way towards Brisbane after a camping trip in central Queensland where he has been considering his future.

Multiple sources close to the deal spoken to by AFL.com.au believe the gun forward has made a call and landed on the Lions.

BOMBER WANTS OUT Speedster set for trade with arch-rival

The Bombers later confirmed Daniher's decision on Wednesday via a statement attributed to list manager Adrian Dodoro.

"We put forward a contract offer to Joe, but he has expressed his strong desire to live away from Melbourne," Dodoro said.

"We understand that free agency is part of our industry and he has a right to explore his options."

It is understood the Lions' medical history in rejuvenating injured players was a major factor in pushing the 2017 All-Australian towards Brisbane over suitors that include Geelong and Sydney.
