Community Officer


The Essendon Football Club has a reputation as a leader in the Australian sports industry, with a proud history and strong values. Driven to be recognised and respected as the most successful sporting club in Australia, both on and off the field, we are now seeking a Community Officer to join our Community team.

Reporting to the Community Programs Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

• Ensuring the Multicultural School’s Program is delivered in line with the AFL’s Service Agreement
• Coordinating the Andrew Welsh NAB AFL Auskick Centre in Flemington
• In partnership with AFP conduct a community football carnival working closely with key stakeholders and local communities to embrace Australia’s diversity and multiculturalism
• Coordinating the ticketing, donations and any requests in line with Fan Development and the Community strategy
• Manage all aspects of the EDFL/RDFL partnership including club training, talent camps and coaching masterclass

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

• Proven experience working with young people and managing volunteers
• Demonstrated experience in the delivery of football or sport development programs
• Highly developed verbal and written communication, interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills
• Experience in working with people from a culturally and linguistically diverse background (CALD).
• Self motivated and strong attention to detail
• Working with Children check
