COBURG and Box Hill Hawks have each named two debutants for their Smithy's VFL clash at Piranha Park on Sunday.
The Lions handed a VFL debut to Old Carey's Max Thompson, the younger brother of star utility Charlie, while Josh Kemp will play his first game for the club after debuting for Essendon last year.
And the Hawks will unveil giant midweek signing Dave Brinker-Ritchie, 18, a 201cm ruckman from Traralgon, alongside Rowville's Lachlan Wynd, who has been rewarded for stellar early season form.
Coburg made three changes to the team that lost to Casey Demons last week, with lively forward Josh D'Intinosante also returning as Andrew Sturgess decides to go smaller, leaving out key forward Aaron Clarke, while the absence of Tom McKenzie (illness) will hurt.
The Hawks have rested several AFL-listed players, with Liam Shiels, Connor Downie and Jai Serong all missing, while key forward Fergus Greene is in isolation, Tom Phillips is injured and Jacob Koschitzke went into the AFL team last week.

A handful of AFL-listed players will fight to regain their spots in their clubs’ top teams in the other games on Sunday.
Melbourne premiership player Tom McDonald has been selected to line up for the Casey Demons against Richmond at the Swinburne Centre after being omitted by the AFL Demons, who have called up Luke Dunstan and Joel Smith from last week’s Casey win.
Richmond has brought Matt Parker and Ben Miller into its team, but will be without Josh Caddy (hamstring) for up to six weeks, while Kane Lambert and Ivan Soldo will also miss the clash on the comeback trail from injury.
Brisbane Lions trio Nakia Cockatoo, Tom Fullarton and Deven Robertson have all been selected to take on Port Melbourne at Moreton Bay, highlighting the strength of the high-flying AFL team.
And North Melbourne has named Round 1 five-goal hero Eddie Ford and son-of-a-legend Jackson Archer for its Anzac Eve clash with Frankston at Skybus Stadium, with captain Kade Answerth and forward Mat Walker also returning, but they have lost Paul Curtis (AFL), Jed Anderson (hamstring) and Marty Hore and Louis Cunningham (concussion).
The Borough has recalled Tom Cameron and Ethan Phillips to face the Lions in place of Nick Stuhldreier and Campbell Walker, while the Dolphins also made two changes to meet the Kangaroos, with Joe Lloyd back from Covid isolation and Kai Owens named for his first game of the season in place of ruck recruit Austin Bradtke (illness) and Tom Small.
The teams for the Coburg v Box Hill Hawks match will be released later on Saturday, with Hawthorn not playing its AFL game until Monday.
