THE SYDNEY Swans thanked their members for their loyal support throughout the 2008 season with an after-match function on Saturday night.
Hundreds of supporters rallied back to the clubrooms after the team put on an impressive performance to defeat the Brisbane Lions by 61 points on Saturday night.
With band ‘Hot Cargo’ in full swing and host ex-player Brad Seymour performing the MC duties, the crowd embraced Paul Roos and the players.
It was a great way to end the night as fans and players celebrated the conclusion of the home and away season in fine style.
Roos received recognition for being the Swans longest serving coach in the history of the club, while the players were introduced.
Roos has been an outstanding coach taking the club to the finals in each of his six years at the helm and once again the Sydney Swans will play in the 2008 finals series against North Melbourne this week.
Naturally, of course the club is hoping for a big turn out on Saturday night in the second elimination final against North Melbourne at ANZ Stadium.
A victory would propel the club into the second week of the finals, which would be played in Melbourne.
