The Essendon Football Club (EFC) is a leader in the Australian sports industry, with well established values and behaviours. Driven to be recognised and respected as the most successful sporting club in Australia, both on and off the field, we are now seeking an Event Manager to join our Marketing Services team.

Reporting to the Marketing Services Manager, you will be responsible for:
  • Coordinating and delivery of EFC’s events including major, coterie, and other events as assigned;
  • Negotiating venue contracts, booking event spaces, arranging food and beverage, coordinating suppliers and audiovisual components, booking and managing talent, and organising event concept and themes;
  • Delivering a ‘best in industry’ service that provides a memorable experience for all clients;
  • Developing the annual event calendar;
  • Developing Marketing and sales strategies for events;
  • Producing post event analysis and documentation;
  • Managing post event sponsor recognition requirements;
  • Preparing and monitoring event budgets; and
  • Ensuring Risk Management assessments are completed for all major events.

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
  • Experience in a similar role;
  • Understanding and experience in planning and delivering high quality events aligned to objectives and target audience;
  • Demonstrated excellent time management and organisational skills both independently and within a team environment;
  • High level of oral and written communication skills;
  • Strong understanding of budget processes;
  • High attention to detail;
  • Ability to multitask and deliver upon multiple stakeholder expectations;
  • Ability to develop integral relationships with all clients, suppliers and coteries;
  • Flexible and responsive to change in direction and priorities as required;
  • Capable of working a wide array of hours with a varying time schedule to suit the seasonal priorities of the football industry; and
  • High competency in the Microsoft Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
