Vale Troy Selwood
"On behalf of the AFL our thoughts are with the entire Selwood family and the wider football industry following the tragic passing of Troy Selwood.
Troy was an incredible advocate for AFL Talent Pathways programs both in his role as a club recruiter and more recently during his time at Geelong Grammar.
He demonstrated a core purpose to always place the needs of young players first and created environments where they could be themselves.
"Troy always bought a sense of positivity, humour and care to the recruiting and talent development process and will be sadly missed by everyone that was fortunate enough to work with him.
We send our deepest sympathies to Joel, Adam, Scott, Bryce, Maree and the entire Selwood family, the staff and students at Geelong Grammar and all those who knew him in the football family at this time."
Vale Dale Tapping
"On behalf of the AFL our thoughts are with the Essendon Football Club and the wider football industry following the passing of Dale Tapping.
Dale was very well respected throughout the football community and made a significant impact in various coaching roles at Essendon, the Brisbane Lions, Collingwood, the Sandringham Dragons, Old Brighton and Old Scotch as well as being a premiership teammate of mine at Old Xaverians.
"Dale helped develop and was a great mentor to many players who have gone on to enjoy successful football careers and in 2016 was named the VFL Coach of the Year after leading Collingwood to the preliminary final.
"We send our deepest sympathies to Dale’s wife Kellie, and children Summer and Mason, as well as his extended family and friends."
