Women’s Football Player Development Manager – Part Time

Collingwood Football Club believe that an integrated and holistic approach to performance is vital to sustainable success. Because of this we are seeking to appoint a Player Development Manager to provide advice, guidance and support to our Women’s Football teams for Season 2020.

This position will play an important role in continuously promoting the club’s high performance culture within the playing group and have a strong focus on enhancing and inspiring wellness, as well as personal and professional growth.

Reporting into the GM Women’s Sport, responsibilities will range from assisting with player induction and overall engagement, player career development and exploration of employment opportunities, managing housing and relocation for interstate or country players as well as providing support and direction on transition plans for exiting players.

Strong communication and relationship management skills are essential, with the successful candidate working closely with the club’s medical and coaching teams to provide consistent support to athletes, as well as acting as main liaison with player families.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Managing Player Action Plans for all AFLW athletes
  • AFLW Player Development: 1:1 initial consult and life skills check-listing and specialist referral where appropriate
  • Assist and help AFLW players with day to day life management, with a view to encouraging practical self-sufficiency and independence
  • Attendance at all AFLW and selected VFLW matches, as well as selected training sessions
  • Ensuring club compliance with all AFLPA requirements as required.
  • Liaise with CFC Head of Player Engagement and Community staff to explore and advise athletes of opportunities to engage with their local communities, grass roots sport and charities 

Our ideal candidate is proactive and driven, someone who is open and honest, and displays utmost integrity at all times. This is a part time (0.6) position with the requirement to be flexible with the days and hours available to be worked to link in with the fixture and needs of the athletes.
