RICHMOND coach Damien Hardwick took over the AFL Facebook page on Thursday afternoon for a live Q&A with fans as part of AFL Media's #AskTheCoach series.

Hardwick touched on a wide variety of topics put to him largely by the Tiger faithful.

On the roles of gun utilities Dustin Martin and Brett Deledio, the sixth-year coach said: "We'd like to see Dusty more through the midfield this year. Brett we thought had a great second half of the year playing more forward so will be similar this year."

After Richmond's quiet trade period, fans were keen to hear which youngsters may don the yellow and black first.

Asked about Connor Menadue, Hardwick said: "Not only is Connor super quick, he also looks a quality player. He's a real student of the game, and we've been really impressed with his work rate."

Other popular topics included how the Tigers may juggle their ruck stocks, replacing Jake King, and the progress of Chris Knights on his return from injury.

#AskTheCoach continues next week with Brad Scott, Paul Roos and Ross Lyon next on the agenda.
