PREMIERSHIP forward Chris Dawes was one of four players delisted by Melbourne on Friday afternoon.
Dawes, midfielders Ben Newton and Viv Michie and big man Max King have all been cut by the Demons.
They join former co-captain Jack Grimes, utility Matt Jones and defender-turned-forward Dean Terlich as the seven players to depart Melbourne.

Dawes played 50 matches for Melbourne from 2013-16, after notching up 71 games with Collingwood from 2008-12, including the Pies' 2010 premiership.
He was Melbourne's leading goalkicker in 2014 with 20 goals.
Newton, 24, played 13 games for the Demons after joining the club in 2014 as a delisted free agent from Port Adelaide.
Michie also made his Demons debut in 2014, after managing one game for Fremantle, and played 21 in the red and blue.
Despite his strong form for Casey this year, he struggled to break into the senior side and only played four AFL games.
King was selected in the 2014 rookie draft by Melbourne, and struggled with injuries, playing just two pre-season matches in his two seasons at the club.
