STAR Adelaide midfielder Matt Crouch could be sidelined for a number of weeks after suffering a hamstring injury in the win over Richmond on Thursday night.

Crouch and fellow midfielder David Mackay, who was concussed during the game, join a bulging Crows' casualty ward.

Forward Tom Lynch (illness) is a chance of returning against St Kilda next Saturday night, Sam Gibson (hamstring), Curtly Hampton (adductor), Alex Keath (ankle) are 1-2 weeks away, Brad Crouch is out for 5-7 weeks with osteitis pubis and Brodie Smith (knee) will miss most of the season.

Matt Crouch injured his left hamstring in the second quarter after amassing 13 possessions.

He went straight to the dressing room to be assessed by Adelaide’s medical staff, before returning to the bench with ice on his hamstring.

"It's a bit early to tell, they'll scan it the next couple of days and assess that," coach Don Pyke said.

"I'm not sure exactly where it is, if it's in the middle of the hamstring or on one side, but we'll assess that and let you know."

Talking points: Adelaide v Richmond

Crouch is coming off a career-best season where he won the Crows' best and fairest, was named in the All Australian team for the first time and averaged 33 possessions per game.

He also had 41 disposals in the Crows' round one loss to Essendon last Friday night.

David Mackay was concussed by a stray arm from Josh Caddy in the third quarter.

"David's up and about, he's in the rooms there," Pyke said.

"Obviously I can't comment because I'm not a doctor, but he came off from a concussion viewpoint. We'd be really hopeful with nine days he'll recover and be ready for the next game."

The Crows had another major injury scare when vice-captain Rory Sloane came off in the second quarter with a strained foot.

Sloane had his foot strapped and returned to the ground, booting a brilliant goal that took a wicked bounce to dribble over the line.

Key defender Daniel Talia hyper-extended his knee in the first two minutes of the third term and headed straight to the Adelaide rooms for assessment by medical staff but returned to the field late in the quarter.

Lynch would be a huge inclusion for the Crows after he missed the clash with the Tigers through illness, after a side strain ruled him out of round one.

"We're really hopeful with Tom," Pyke said.

"He trained today and he'll train again on Saturday, and he's tracking along nicely, so we're hopeful on that one."
