NORTH Melbourne is breathing a sigh of relief at the Match Review Officer's findings, with a trio of stars escaping punishment for incidents during Sunday's loss to Greater Western Sydney.

Ben Brown's matchday striking charge for an elbow to the head of Matt Buntine was thrown out by Michael Christian, while Jack Ziebell and Ben Cunnington also escaped sanctions.

Ziebell collected Toby Greene with a crunching bump in the opening seconds, while Cunnington injured Matt de Boer's shoulder in a heavy tackle later in the game.

However, despite their fortune, Kangaroos duo Kayne Turner and Luke Davies-Uniacke will be forced to fork out fines for respective incidents during the same fiery contest.

Turner was fined $2000 for striking Jeremy Cameron in the opening term, while Davies-Uniacke will be made to pay $1000 for making careless contact with an umpire.

It comes amid a quiet weekend for Christian, with no players handed suspensions.

However, Hawthorn captain Ben Stratton was referred directly to the AFL Tribunal on Friday night for two charges – pinching Orazio Fantasia and stomping on Shaun McKernan.
