GOLD Coast has appointed David Swallow and Jarrod Witts to once again lead the club in 2020.
The pair were first named co-captains last year following the departures of Tom Lynch and Steven May to Richmond and Melbourne respectively.
The rest of the leadership group will be announced at a later date, with the appointment of Swallow and Witts announced at the club's season launch on Friday night alongside AFLW co-captains Sam Virgo and Leah Kaslar.
Captaincy has suited Witts, with the ruckman winning the club's best and fairest last season.
"To be given the opportunity to lead this club again is something that I’m extremely grateful for and honoured to do," Witts said.
"I really enjoyed the opportunity alongside Dave. I learnt a lot, I know he did and I know we’ll be able to use those learnings to make us better this season.
"Getting the exposure to it last year allowed me to understand a bit more about the footy club as a whole, you take on different responsibilities and then also have to focus on performing every week and being accountable to that as a leader of the footy club.
"I can’t wait to get stuck into the role and continuing to help drive this club forward."
Swallow said it was humbling and special to lead the club alongside Witts.
"Leading a group has its challenges, but it’s certainly been very rewarding at times and that’s one of the best parts of the role," he said.
"Helping develop some of our younger players and drive the culture for our footy club is something I’m passionate about as a leader and really proud to do.
"If I can continue to work on my leadership style and help impart that across the group, I’ll feel as though I’m playing my role."
