COLLINGWOOD players continue to sweat it out as they embark on another intensive pre-season at the Westpac Centre.

The club's senior players joined the rest of the group at training last week and have immediately shown they're not about to miss a beat in their approach to the 2014 season.

There have been some testing sessions, with the team running the customary 2km time trial last week, and then going through a boxing session on Tuesday.

The club's recruits – Taylor Adams, Patrick Karnezis, Jesse White and Tony Armstrong – have made an immediate impression in black and white stripes.

The move to Melbourne was made easier for Armstrong in particular given his close friendship with defender Ben Reid. The pair played junior football together.

Armstrong, who was picked up as a delisted free agent from the Sydney Swans, has lived with Reid since moving to Melbourne.

The club's draftees – namely Nathan Freeman and Jonathon Marsh – have also made an impact as they adjust to life as an AFL footballer.

Meanwhile, exciting forward Jamie Elliott declared to AFL.com.au last month that he has spoken with Nathan Buckley about the prospect of joining the team's midfield rotation next season.

Elliott, along with emerging defender Marley Williams have been two of the standouts on the track so far this pre-season.
