Geelong supporters have made Paul Chapman the early leader in the gfc.com.au player of the year award. Fans voted Chapman as the Cats best player in the opening round contest against the Western Bulldogs.

Chapman garnered 24 possessions, grabbed five marks and laid three tackles against the Dogs. Joel Corey’s 28 possessions and five marks earned him two votes and Gary Ablett one vote after booting two goals.

Geelong supporters are asked to vote on-line each week for the club’s best players. Voting is now open for the round two game against the Kangaroos.
