Adelaide Crows

Get them in: Jordan Gallucci, Myles Poholke, Curtly Hampton, rookie Patrick Wilson, Andy Otten and Kyle Cheney will all come under consideration. Second-year forward Ben Davis is an outside chance to replace Tom Lynch, who is in doubt with a side strain.

Under the pump: Midfielder David Mackay and winger Rory Atkins have been down on form. Defender Jake Kelly might also need a stint in the SANFL.

Medical room: Lynch could miss Sunday's clash with Fremantle with a side strain, while All Australian defender Rory Laird has a fractured hand. Richard Douglas is expected to be right after sustaining an eye injury in the loss to the Giants.

Verdict: Despite losing three of their last four, the Crows will avoid making mass changes. Hampton to replace the experienced Mackay, and Gallucci to come in for Lynch if he is out with a side strain. Cheney to come in for Laird if he's unable to play. - Lee Gaskin

Brisbane Lions

Get them in: Following some strong NEAFL form, Sam Mayes has earned the right to a recall for his 100th game, while Tom Bell and Josh Walker have also been consistent. Brandon Starcevich might be nearing a debut.

Under the pump: The injury list might save a few, but Ryan Lester and Ben Keays would like to make a better fist of things if given another chance.

Medical room: Charlie Cameron (foot) and Mitch Robinson (toe) will miss, while Allen Christensen (concussion), Hugh McCluggage (calf) and Jarrod Berry (hamstring) will all be tested.

Verdict: It'll come down to how many are ruled out with injury, but Mayes and Bell look good replacements for Cameron and Robinson. - Michael Whiting

Collingwood

Get them in: Jeremy Howe is likely to return for the Queen’s Birthday clash with his former club Melbourne, while Ben Reid will be touch and go and Travis Varcoe is unlikely. Young runners Sam Murray and Callum Brown could be recalled.

Under the pump: NAB AFL Rising Star fancy Jaidyn Stephenson has been terrific but could be due for a rest after a game-low five touches in the win over Fremantle.

Medical room: Howe (knee – bone bruising), Reid (unspecified leg injury) and Varcoe (hamstring) are perhaps all in contention.

Verdict: After a week off, Howe should be ready to come back, and could be joined by Reid and Varcoe. - Ben Collins

Essendon

Get them in: Aaron Francis will be strongly considered again after continuing his strong VFL form again over the weekend. Jake Long also played well at VFL level, while Josh Green booted two goals.

Under the pump: Jordan Ridley has been quiet the past two weeks after his brilliant debut against the Cats so could be given a refresh.

Medical room:  The Bombers look set to lose David Zaharakis after he hurt his collarbone in last week's loss to Richmond. Travis Colyer made his return to the field at VFL level on the weekend after a foot injury has kept him sidelined all year.

Verdict: Francis would add some genuine talent to the Bombers side and is ready for his first senior game of this season. Get him in. - Callum Twomey

Fremantle

Get them in: imgDumped forward Brandon Matera starred for Peel with three goals from 20 disposals and could be straight back in against Adelaide. Ethan Hughes (23) also impressed.

Under the pump: There shouldn't be many repercussions from a 61-point loss to Collingwood given Freo's youth policy.

Medical room: It is unclear whether veteran ruckman Aaron Sandilands needs more time to recover from his concussion but he might be kept on ice regardless after a heavy workload.

Verdict: Matera shapes as a likely inclusion and could spent time in the midfield if skipper Nat Fyfe's suspension stands, while Hughes and defenders Ryan Nyhuis and Griffin Logue, after two games back at Peel, should also be under consideration. - Travis King

Geelong Cats

Get them in: Ryan Abbott (two goals, 30 hit outs) is edging closer to a debut and could be Geelong's 37th player used this season. George Horlin-Smith and James Parsons continue to impress in the VFL. Stewart Crameri and Cory Gregson were the carryover emergencies as Geelong played a smaller forward line on the Gold Coast.

Under the pump: Rhys Stanley was comprehensively beaten in the ruck – a move forward might be on the cards after playing there in the VFL in early May. A Harry Taylor return may see Aaron Black drop out or Jack Henry rested after 10 straight games. Wylie Buzza failed to hit the scoreboard in his return. It would be hard to drop Jamaine Jones after two games, but that will be looked at if Gregson or Crameri are recalled.

Medical room: Scott Selwood (back) is 50-50 to return after returning to training last week. Taylor (plantar fascia) is a watch.

Verdict: Abbott's inclusion could see Stanley potentially play more forward and Buzza drop out. Otherwise Mark Blicavs can be unleashed as the second ruck if Taylor returns and Black keeps his spot. Line ball between Jones, Crameri and Gregson. - Mitch Cleary

Gold Coast Suns

Get them in: He might be slightly underdone, but Sean Lemmens' pressure would be a good addition. Jack Leslie is a good swap for injured Steven May, while Peter Wright and Michael Barlow should also be right in the frame.

Under the pump: The entire team should be after last week, but injuries might save a few.

Medical room: Co-captain Steven May (ankle) and midfielder Aaron Hall (arm) will miss, while versatile Aaron Young (ankle) must pass a fitness test to be available.

Verdict: Let's see how hard Stuart Dew wants to swing the axe. Leslie in for May and Lemmens to return would be a start. Barlow keeps knocking down the door in the twos. - Michael Whiting

GWS Giants

Get them in: Forward Matt de Boer should be ready to resume from a hamstring strain and his experience and hardness would be extremely valuable to the team.

Under the pump: Young defender Harry Perryman has struggled for form in his last three games and didn't have a great day against Adelaide, so might need to regain some confidence in the NEAFL.

Medical room: A full week of training should be enough for de Boer to prove his fitness.

Verdict: If de Boer can get through the Giants' main session on Wednesday he comes in for Perryman. - Adam Curley

Melbourne

Get them in: Joel Smith, Sam Frost, Josh Wagner and Jayden Hunt will all come into contention to replace Jake Lever, who will miss the rest of the season with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Cameron Pedersen, Dom Tyson and Jeff Garlett will all be around the mark.

Under the pump: The Demons will make at least one change with Lever going out, although Tim Smith, Charlie Spargo and Mitch Hannan have not cemented their places in the side.

Medical room: Jake Melksham is confident he'll play against the Magpies, but is in some doubt with an ankle injury.

Verdict: Joel Smith for Lever. Pedersen has to be getting close to selection and could come in for Tim Smith. - Ben Guthrie

North Melbourne

Get them in: Cameron Zurhaar seems in pole position for an AFL recall, with potentially one spot available. He adds X-factor up forward and responded to his demotion with strong form at the lower level in the past three weeks. Nathan Hrovat continues to wait in the wings, Ryan Clarke won 36 disposals in his first state league appearance since July last year, and prized draftee Luke Davies-Uniacke is always in selectors' thoughts. The other man worth watching is key forward Nick Larkey, who is equal second in the VFL goalkicking.

Under the pump: Tom Murphy is the one at greatest danger here, after being a late inclusion last week for Jarrad Waite.

Medical room: Most interest is in whether Waite (calf) and Jed Anderson (hamstring), who sat out all bar five minutes of Sunday's win, will be available to face Geelong. Both players have a history with those ailments. Taylor Garner (hamstring) didn't play in the VFL last weekend.

Verdict: This is a waiting game. Waite and Anderson could play this weekend but Zurhaar is the likeliest addition if a door opens. - Marc McGowan

Port Adelaide

Get them in: Veteran Lindsay Thomas booted four goals in the SANFL last week to push his claims for a senior recall for Friday night's clash with Richmond. Defender Jasper Pittard is also due for a return, while Jack Trengove will be close.

Under the pump: Dan Houston could be the one to make way for Pittard. Small forwards Jake Neade and Sam Gray will be under pressure from Thomas.

Medical room: Forward Todd Marshall could be recalled after missing the SANFL game last week with a shoulder issue, but probably needs a week in the SANFL.

Verdict: Probably two changes. Pittard for Houston, and Thomas for Neade. - Lee Gaskin

Richmond

Get them in: Daniel Rioli impressed in his third game back – his first full hit-out since the Grand Final – and appears ready to come in. There isn't much more Anthony Miles can do at VFL level, he had 43 disposals and kicked three goals on the weekend, while Sam Lloyd and Corey Ellis also impressed.

Under the pump: Hard to individualise here after the Tigers' 71-point win over Essendon. No one stands out as a glaringly deserving omission.

Medical room: Bachar Houli won't play until after the bye while Dion Prestia remains a few weeks away. Jason Castagna was rated a chance to face the Bombers and will again come into calculations this week.

Verdict: If Rioli's ready, it's hard to see the coaches going past him. Who he comes in for is another story; Jack Higgins perhaps, although Kane Lambert was uncharacteristically quiet against the Bombers. Jacob Townsend had his time managed in the VFL on Sunday so he's possibly in consideration having impressed with the contested side of his game. One thing's for sure; there's a selection squeeze at the Tigers and you don't want to lose your spot. - Jennifer Phelan

St Kilda

Get them in: Draftee Nick Coffield had 31 disposals in the VFL while tough onballer David Armitage amassed 28 himself, as well as eight tackles and a goal.

Under the pump: Small forward Jack Lonie was relatively quiet against West Coast.

Medical room: The Saints are hopeful Luke Dunstan has recovered from a right shoulder injury. Captain Jarryn Geary will be unavailable as he deals with a left calf strain.

Verdict: Coffield and Dunstan in for Geary and Lonie. - Dinny Navaratnam

Sydney Swans

Get them in: The Swans reserves are flying with Dan Robinson (30 possessions and 14 tackles) particularly good last week, and Dean Towers, Darcy Cameron and Aliir Aliir all ready to play if called upon.

Under the pump: Young midfielder Ryley Stoddart hasn't had a huge impact since he made his debut in round 10, so could be the unlucky one to miss out.

Medical room: Small forward Tom Papley will need to get through training on Thursday after being rested last week.

Verdict: Papley to prove his fitness and replace Stoddart. - Adam Curley
