Michael Gudinski was quite literally a legend of the music industry.

He was a huge figure in Melbourne and he was a huge figure in our game.  Michael was an iconic individual who has left a huge legacy in so many areas; he was just a fabulously entertaining guy with huge passion and heart and commitment.

He loved our game, he loved footy. He made a contribution to it through the AFL Grand Final for a long period of time – that was more obvious - but his passion and his interest went much beyond that - through the St Kilda Football Club and through messages he would send me about different aspects of the game.

He is a huge loss and my thoughts goe out to Sue, his wife, and his entire family and everyone at the Mushroom Group because frankly people like that are not easily replaced.

People who have such an impact on every group they run into who, who have such passion and energy to make rooms, spaces in these industries better.

That’s what Michael did…. He was a personal friend, he was a friend of the AFL, and a friend of so many across Melbourne, across Australia and he is a huge loss.

Someone who’s lived a big life and he’s going to leave a big hole.
