On Monday, after a marathon nine-hour board meeting, the Power met the June 30 deadline in Williams' current contract and offered the premiership coach a two-year extension.
Williams has already agreed to take a pay cut to remain at Alberton and on Friday he suggested his bank balance would take a serious hit next year.
"Hopefully, we'll see the outcome of the negotiations within the next two or three weeks. All I can to say to our supporters is that I'm doing everything possible," he said.
"I would expect to come out with what the AFL would say is a very standard or medium contract. From all reports I've been paid towards the top [of the coaches in the AFL], but I'm saying I'll be in the middle now."
Earlier this week Williams admitted the review process had taken its toll on him personally.
But he said he didn't expect the offer of a new deal to impact on his coaching performance.
"Coaching is what I do, whether the pressure is on or not or whether it's a big game or a lesser game. Hopefully, we keep coaching the same way and get a better result."
In teams news, talented forward/midfielder Robbie Gray was put through his paces in yet another Friday morning fitness test.
Gray, who reported both knee and groin soreness in the loss to Geelong, appeared to get through the light session.
But Williams said he'd wait for the medical staff's assessment of the injury prone youngster.
"I'm shaking my ahead a little bit. I'm not exactly sure how Robbie is," he said.
"He's actually been pretty well outstanding as far as getting up and [being] ready to play is concerned. Unfortunately, he plays a bit of crash and bash and goes where not a lot of people do. He gets run into a lot and each week it's a different problem."
Injured star Chad Cornes also made an appearance on Friday.
Cornes, who is recovering from knee surgery, is listed as three weeks away on the club's official injury list.
But the dual All-Australian has his sights set on a return against Melbourne at the MCG next week.
Brisbane Lions skipper Jonathan Brown has talked up the rivalry between the 2004 grand finalists ahead of Saturday's clash at AAMI Stadium.
Brown declared there to be some hatred between the two sides and Williams conceded the Power were a little jealous of the Lion's unrivalled success earlier in the decade.
"We've always admired Brisbane in regards to how they play. Obviously, we've been to a point jealous in terms of what they've achieved and winning three premierships in a time where we were winning a lot of games, but not the premierships," he said.
"I can understand why it sits in his [Brown's] guts because we beat them in a grand final and stopped them from becoming the greatest team of all time. He won't ever be able to overcome that and, as a footballer, that sort of stuff sits with you, but we look forward to the game."
