Darebin Falcons midfielder Lulu Beatty has joined Richmond for the 2025 NAB AFLW Season.
The 21-year-old has earned a second chance at the top level after making a brilliant start to the 2025 rebel VFLW season for the Darebin Falcons.
Beatty previously spent two years on Carlton’s AFLW list, playing four games during the 2024 season, before being delisted at the conclusion of the season.
She returned to the Falcons and has been a standout in the first half of this year's rebel VFLW campaign, averaging 20 disposals, four marks and four tackles across six matches.
Her efforts were recognised by the rebel VFLW coaches, with Beatty sitting in tenth place in the rebel Coaches MVP Award, having polled votes in every game.
Beatty has been a train-on player with Richmond throughout the club’s AFLW pre-season campaign and has earned her spot on the Tigers’ list to replace Charley Ryan, who unfortunately suffered a season-ending ACL injury at training.
Richmond AFLW List and Recruiting Manager, Trent Mosbey, said Beatty deserved another opportunity at AFLW level.
“Lulu’s ability to kick the ball makes her an impact player with ball in hand that can influence the game with each disposal,” Mosbey told richmondfc.com.au.
“After being delisted by Carlton at the end of 2024, she has gone back to Darebin and worked very hard, showing improvement in a variety of areas, including 11 tackles against Geelong in Round 7.
“Lulu can intercept, provide dash and rebound off half back, and can generate metres gained with her work rate and running ability off a wing in combination with her long, accurate kicking.
“We welcome Lulu to the Richmond family and look forward to seeing her thrive in our program.”
