Collingwood forward Amelie Gladman has joined Essendon as a replacement player for the 2025 NAB AFLW season.
The 19-year-old played three VFLW games for the Magpies across the first eight rounds of the rebel VFLW campaign, the most recent being the Round 8 win over the Bombers at AIA Vitality Centre.
Gladman averaged 11 disposals, four tackles and three marks for the Magpies, where she shared her time while also representing the Oakleigh Chargers in the Coates Talent League.
A former Victorian state cricketer, Gladman was a member of the Chargers’ back-to-back premiership wins in 2023 and 2024.
Essendon AFLW List and Recruiting Manager Josh Moore said Gladman deserved her opportunity at AFLW level after being overlooked in her Draft year in 2024.
“Amelie is a player we have been tracking for quite some time now. Her resilience and attitude in wanting to get better since missing last year’s draft has been exceptional,” Moore told essendonfc.com.au.
“She plays with a maturity beyond her years - with high footy IQ and smart leading patterns, she is a vital cog in offensive transition for whichever team she plays in, with her efficient kicking standing out.
“We have had a focus on bringing great people in, with elite character traits. Amelie will certainly add value in this area. We are excited to welcome Amelie and her family to the Bombers.”
