Williamstown made it seven straight matches without a loss after a hard-fought 14-point triumph over Tasmania at DSV Stadium. The Devils would kick the only two majors of the opening quarter late in the term to put pressure on the in-form Seagulls before the hosts responded with a three-goal second term to lead by seven points at half time. The away side would be kept scoreless for a second straight quarter in the third, as Williamstown ensured their winning run would remain intact. The Seagulls booted five goals for the match, with all five produced by Mia Zielinski in what was an outstanding display inside 50 that also included six marks, two of those being contested. Teammates Naomi Ferres (25 disposals, 12 tackles, seven clearances) and Ellen Williams (24 disposals, six intercepts, five inside 50’s) were also excellent in the triumph while for Tasmania, Ellie Hall played a terrific game with 21 disposals, 10 tackles and eight intercepts, with Grace White continuing her goal kicking run with two majors.

North Melbourne-Werribee continued their dominance in season 2026, this time with a 67-point victory over Casey at ETU Stadium. The Roos led from start to finish in what was a complete four-quarter display, booting multiple goals in each term and keeping the Demons to just two behinds for the entirety of the second half. It’s now the eighth time in nine matches that the reigning premiers have kicked 60 points or greater this season and it’s the lowest score they’ve conceded since Round 11, 2025. Nyakoat Dojiok and Ava Seton booted three majors each in the triumph and were two of the five multiple goalkickers produced by the hosts. Made more impressive by the fact that Seton also led her side in disposals (32), clearances (nine) and inside 50’s (six). Tylah Burn was a standout for the Demons with 18 touches, eight clearances and six tackles, all team-highs, as well as five intercepts.

Port Melbourne kept their spot inside the top four at the end of Round 9, after proving too strong for Essendon in a 30-point win at Windy Hill. Both sides would be split by just two points at the main break with each team unable to get complete reward for their shots on goal before the Borough produced the decisive quarter in the third, kicking three unanswered majors whilst keeping the Bombers scoreless. The away side could’ve extended the margin significantly larger in the final term, but kicked only one goal from six scoring shots, however by keeping Essendon to just one behind in the same quarter, Port Melbourne were able to secure their third straight win. Courtney Jones had another strong outing with 21 disposals and an equal season-high of nine tackles whilst Paris Gebel-Lamb and Nayley Borg kicked two majors apiece, the pair hitting the scoreboard for the first time this season. Bombers skipper El Chaston led from the front again, finishing with 19 disposals, six intercepts, six rebound 50’s.

Collingwood quickly rebounded back to the winners list, producing a huge 47-point triumph over Box Hill at Box Hill City Oval. After being kept to four and five majors in their last two games respectively, the Pies looked to get back to their attacking best in their Saturday encounter, and after scores were level at quarter time, Collingwood kicked five goals to one in the second term to lead by 28 points at the main break. The Magpies would then have no issues for the remainder of the game, keeping Box Hill to just four behinds in the last two quarters. Amelia Peck’s brilliant goalkicking form continued, booting four majors for the third time this season, with Eva Harris (three) and Ash Patton (two) both kicking season-high goal tallies also. Maintaining the rage in the middle was Stella Huxtable (27 disposals, nine inside 50’s, nine clearances) and Dom Carbone (29 disposals, seven clearances and six score involvements) whilst for Box Hill, Ella Stoddart played well in defence with 24 touches, 12 rebound 50’s and 10 intercepts.

Carlton produced back-to-back victories to further distance themselves from the bottom seven in the VFLW competition after defeating Geelong by 42 points at Deakin University. It was the Cats who got the jump in the early stages of the game, kicking the first three majors of the match inside 10 minutes of play to lead by eight points at the first change, before the Blues stormed their way back into the contest with three and four-goal terms in the second and third quarters respectively putting the game beyond doubt when they were 31 points to the good at the final change. The away side had a bunch of strong contributors to the win, headlined again by Hannah Scott who amassed 30 disposals as well as eight clearances and nine tackles. Her teammates in Emily Elkington (27 disposals, nine tackles) and Octavia Di Donato (25 disposals, one goal) were also influential, with Sophia McCarthy leading the way up forward with three majors. The terrific form of Lucy Marescuk continued for Geelong despite the loss as she led her side in disposals (23), intercepts (nine) and inside 50’s (four).

It was consecutive narrow victories for Darebin to close out the round, holding on to defeat Sandringham by four points at Trevor Barker Beach Oval. In a high scoring opening quarter, the Falcons had a positive start to the game despite conceding the first two goals, as they booted four unanswered majors to lead by 13 points at quarter time. That lead only increased to 15 points in the second quarter before a late goal to end the half from the Zebras sparked them into action after the main break as by the 14-minute mark of the third term, they were in the lead. It was a short-lived advantage as Darebin responded soon after to be in front by the final change and that goal would prove to be the last goal of the match, as the away side battled through some tense moments to claim their third win of the season. Isabella Daddo was simply superb for the victors, finishing with 28 disposals, nine clearances and two goals in the win whilst teammate Caitlin Bunker was also crucial to claiming the four points for Darebin in a massive game that included 26 disposals, 10 clearances, 10 inside 50’s and eight tackles. Kristy Stratton did all she could for Sandringham, and was hard at it with 22 disposals, 16 contested possessions and 13 tackles.
