The Kangaroos have re-signed five key senior players for the next two seasons.Defenders Drew Petrie, Jess Sinclair, Daniel Pratt, Leigh Brown and utility Corey Jones have all signed on with club for seasons 2007 and 2008.The club has lodged the paperwork with the AFL and Kangaroos General Manager - Football Operations Donald McDonald said the signings were excellent news for the club."Four of these players finished Top 10 in our best and fairest award this year and to have them all committed until the end of 2008 is tremendous for our club,” McDonald said."It shows a real commitment to our structure and confidence in the path we are taking."Petrie enjoyed his best season for the club and appears to have found a niche for himself in a key defensive role. He played 21 games in 2006 for a career total of 106 and finished equal fourth in the best and fairest.Sinclair finished ninth in the Syd Barker on the strength of a consistent 21-game season in defence alongside Pratt who, like Petrie, took a big step up in 2006. Pratt played 18 games and added pace an aggression to the Kangaroos back half.Leigh Brown played 21 matches in 2006 to take his career tally to an even 150 and continues to add versatility to the Kangaroos line-up while Jones was honoured with the captaincy in the final game of the season, a fitting reward for his continuing development.
