GREATER Western Sydney youngster Toby Greene has had five charges dropped by police over an allegedly violent night out in May this year.

Greene, who appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Thursday, was originally charged with 10 offences from the May 12 night out at Zagames hotel in Caulfield.

But police dropped five of the charges - intentionally causing injury, assault with a weapon, assault by kicking and threat to inflict serious injury and affray.

The 21-year-old still faces one count of recklessly causing serious injury to Terence Payne, one count of assault in company with another, one count of assault, one count of public drunkenness and one count of intentionally damaging a car.

Greene's case was adjourned until December 9 for a contest mention.
