LEON Cameron will have to wait until the end of the season before restarting contract negotiations with Greater Western Sydney that could extend his coaching tenure at the club.
The GWS leader is due to come out of contract at the end of this season after signing a two-year extension in 2020.

Cameron joined the Giants as senior assistant to inaugural coach Kevin Sheedy ahead of the 2013 season before taking the reins as head coach from 2014.
"We had a really good meeting with the club just before the season started and we'll assess that and park it until the end of the year," Cameron said after watching his team defeat Gold Coast at Giants Stadium.
"I'm a nine-year coach, 10 years at the footy club, and sometimes trying to work through a contract in the hurly burly of week-in, week-out footy is pretty full-on.
"I think it's a really smart decision from the footy club. It's an honest decision.
"When you've been involved in a club for near-on 10 years you want to make the right decision. Sometimes clubs probably don't get that right, and we've seen that in the past, and they have regrets. I don't want us to have any regrets."
The news that contract talks are on hold comes after Cameron led the Giants to his 100th win as coach when they beat the Suns by 26 points to claim a first victory of the season.
But he would not reveal whether the number of victories this season or finishing position alone would determine whether his deal will be extended.
"There will definitely be things that we look at at the end of the year, clearly we look at style of play, win-loss, that's the norm for any senior coach," he said.
"I look forward to having those really good discussions at the end of the year.
"It's a mature decision from both club and coach. There is always going to be speculation, especially when you start 0-2 or you lose a game."
Cameron has guided the Giants to finals in five of the past six seasons, including the 2019 Grand Final where they lost to a rampant Richmond.
